My Start to Coin & Currency Collecting

This website is dedicated to my collection of coin and currency that has been obtained through the years. I started collecting coins as a young boy when I was about 12-13 years old. My paper route was my only source of income at the time, and allowed me to dive head first into collecting Lincoln and Wheat cents. I would stash away other denominations as i found them, if they were interesting enough to grab my attention. Anything silver was kept, even though at the time I wasn't sure why the greyish coin looked that way. As this was long before the widespread use of the Internet, obtaining information about coin collecting was very difficult. It wasn't until many years later that I learned there was a coin dealer the next town or two over. As years passed, my collection slowly grew as I found interesting or old examples in circulation. As the internet became available to the average person, information slowly became more available. Information on the history of United States coinage was slowly becoming readily available. Soon, my collection was growing at an increasing pace. The more I knew about numismatics, the more interested I was in collecting it. Ebay has long been a favorite of mine for purchasing coins. Cointalk.org is my favorite forum for the discussion of numismatics. And now this website - a place where I can share what I have, and brag in my own little way.
