I will use this page to show what updates i have done. This will help visitors navigate right to the new notes or pages without having to navigate every page. It will also help me to know what i have updated, and what i have to update.

Links to newly aquired items:

Last year I spent a good amount of time updating pages, posting content, images and synopsys's of notes, countries currency histories and a lot of odds and ends. I spent a large amount of time creating, re-creating and yet re-re-creating the way the site is presented. The layout as you seen the pages now is the third go around. If you like it, or hate it, please visit the Guestbook and leave a comment or just leave a shoutout from the country you are visiting from. As with last year, I will focus most of my time trying to post the content I have collected over the years in both coins and currency. The last few months and certainly the next several have been weary for the State of Michigan. This impacts the funds of anyone with a hobby. As the economic concerns deepens in this state, I will be unable to do alot of buying. So this is good in that I will be able to spend more time working on the site. This is very bad in that I will have to let go alot of items I routinely buy every year. I appreciate the emails I get about typo's, incorrectly labled items and updates to the historical accounts I get from the sites visitors.

So, as 2008 is underway, I look forward to all that our hobby brings: New Presidential dollars, First Spouse coins, fractional Buffalo's, the American Bald Eagle commemorative coin along with the yet un-named commemorative coin program, the ever popular American Silver Eagle (in all 3 formats) and last but not least, the continuing efforts to educate the American people of states, and not quite states, with the continuation of the widely popular State Quarter program with issuances of United States Terrtories on our 25 cent piece.

Burma - Added several notes from the 1942-1944 period, the Japanese Occupation.

Cambodia - Added several notes.

Last updated August 12th, 2008

England - Added a new map with the higher resolution, so PLEASE tell me what you think... Old maps, or this new one - which is better?. I am also talking with National Geographic about possibly using one of their maps. If you have ever seen some of their maps, they are absolutely stunning. Hopefully, we will be able to come to an agreement about weather or not i can use one of their maps, and if they have a mpa to suit my use. One of the biggest problems with the high resolution maps is file size. aving maps with high resolution that are 3 to 5 megs in size do visitors to the site very little use since it would take so long to download, even at broadband speed. So i will have to look at other possibilities, possible even progrssive scanning - it adds a bit to the file size, but it also makes downloading a bit easier.. So stay tuned.

German Notgeld - Added this page to the site. Added several notgeld notes from several towns.

NOTE: I am working on new maps for all the pages. These maps are alot more detailed, showing topography as well as a much higher resolution for easier viewing. I am not sure when i will get them all posted, but when i get a few, i will post some links here so you can check them out and let me know which version is better.

Did some cosmetic work on the site today. I added a forum where we can sit, relax and chat about all things Numismatic. Ironicaly, i named the fourm "Numismatically Speaking". Please pop in and say hello, or if you dont wish to register for the forum, you can always sign the Guestbook. I am also thinking about setting up new polling software. I think the 'folks' messing with the polls i have now are using a back door to the polling software i currently use. More on that later. One last thing i updated to the site was email. I can now be contacted via the Contact page with my new email DaggarJon@DaggarJon.com :) has a nice ring to it, dont you think?

It has been quite a delay between my last update to this one. Personal issues demand my attention. The last hackers invasion didnt help much either. I appologize if the latest website hack caused any problems for any visitors. There is little i can do to stop another incursion, but keep in mind, that while the hacker or hackers my be able to come in and doodle on a page or two, they CANNOT modify or delete any content. Lets hope, however, that future site hacks are far and few between!
